How to get CamStudio to work with Windows Vista

I have recently downloaded CamStudio and have been figuring out how to make it work on Windows Vista. CamStudio is free desktop recording software for Windows. It's very useful for making tutorial videos.

First, download CamStudio 2.5 Beta 1 from here, click on the top one. Wait for it to download.

After the download is done. Go to your C drive > Program Files. Right click > New > Folder. Name the folder "Camstudio.2.5.b1".

Now drag the files from the zip folder you downloaded to C > Program Files > Camstudio.2.5.b1.

Go to C > Program Files > Camstudio.2.5.b1.
Right click on Recorder > Properties. Then click on the Tab "Compatibility". Check mark compatibility mode for Windows XP Service Pack 2.

Right click on Recorder again > Send to > Desktop (create shortcut) . Now you have a shortcut on your desktop for CamStudio.

Now, to get it so when your recording audio, you don't hear static. Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound. Click on the Recording tab. Right click > Show Disabled Devices. Now you have one or more devices show up. Now right click on them > Enable.

Now CamStudio should work just fine on your Windows Vista computer.
