Windows Vista Tweaks

Windows Vista needs allot of tweaking. I have figured about a lot of Vista tweaks and will share them with you.

#1: Turn off annoying warning messanges - Click on Start > Control Panel > User Accounts and Family Safety > User Accounts > Turn User Account Conrol On or Off . Uncheck User Account Control and Restart your computer.

#2: Customize the Start Menu - Right click on Start Menu > Properties > Start Menu. Click on Customize. There use can select the items to display on the start menu and the size of the icons. You can also put the Run command and Adminstator Tools in the Start Menu like it was in XP.

#3: Show the menu bar in Windows Explorer - Go to Documents > Organize > Layout > Menu Bar.

#4: Click on the start menu > type "msconfig" . There you can chose your startup programs and services to speed up your computer. After your done restart your computer.

#5: Delete Temp files - Click on the Start Menu, type "%temp%", Click on the folder temp. Select all the files and right click > Delete. Then, empty the Recycle Bin. If you get any warning messages, click Skip. This will free up allot of space on your drive.

#6: Disable Hibernation -
Click on the Start Menu, and then enter "cmd". Right-click on Cmd, and select Run as Administrator. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER: "powercfg.exe -h off"
Type "exit", and then press ENTER. By disabling this you will save space on your hard drive.

#7: Disable Windows Defender - Go to control panel > Security > Windows Defender. Click on tools > Options. Uncheck Automatically scan my computer. Download Comodo Firewall Pro in replace of Windows Defender. If you ask why disable Windows Defender it's because it sucks and it does not catch anything.

#8: Display Menu Bar in Internet Explorer 7/8 - Right click under the address bar and select menu bar. There is another method if this one does not work for you but it's much harder. Read Here.
