Jailbreak 2.0.1 on Windows

How to jailbreak iPod Touch 2.0.1/iPhone 2.0.1 on Windows XP/Vista.

It is not illegal to jailbeark your iPod Touch/iPhone. It's just not supported by Apple.

iTunes 7.7 or later
Winpwn (download here:
iPod Touch 2.0.1/iPhone 2.0.1 Software Update (Download here:

Connect your iPod/iPhone.

You need to use Winpwn to make a custom version of the iPhone 2.1 software for your iPhone/iPod, The first thing you need to do is create a custom software update using the IPSW Builder.

If you have a iPod Touch you canm download my own custom software update with Installer 4, Cydia and Windows Vista Boot and Recovery Images. I also made the root partition size a little bigger by about 50MB. This will be usefull when SSHing and copying files to root.

Download Here:

Skip to Step 2 if you use my own custom software update.

To do this, just fire up Winpwn. Click on Browser .ipsw and select the software update. Then click on IPSW Builder.

From the IPSW Builder, tick the Install Cydia and Installer checkbox. Don't check YouTube activation fix if you're an official AT&T customer on the iPhone. From IPSW you can also select your own Boot Images, payloads and you can change the root partition size. When your done, click the Build .ipsw button. You'll be prompted to save the custom ipsw file. Choose where where you want to save it and click Save (it defaults to the Winpwn install location). I recommend saving it to your desktop. The IPSW Builder will take several minutes to create your custom IPSW image.

Now click on iPwner and select your custom software update to pwn your iTunes.

Restore your iPod/iPhone to the offical 2.0.1 software update by Apple. This is just to be safe. Some iPods and iPhones have crashed without restore to original 2.0.1.

Open iTunes, go to your iPod/iPhone. Hold down shift + click on restore select the original 2.0.1 software update.

Wait about 5 minutes after the restore is complete.
